Pool Fence & Perimeter Fencing Government Regulations

 

Before purchasing your new fencing product from us, we recommend you visit your local government regulation websites to ensure you are getting exactly what you require and what will comply with your relative local and State Government Building Standards.

Pool Fencing Regulations in Victoria

All swimming pools and spas on residential properties in Victoria with a depth greater than 300mm are required to be surrounded by a safety barrier. There are currently 3 sets of requirements for pool/spa barriers in Victoria - these are based on when your pool or spa was constructed:

  • All swimming pools and spa build in residential area should surrounded by safety barrier.
     

  • All pools and spas built after 2010 require a four sides protection fence which can isolate direct access from the house or any other building to the pool or spa.
     

  • Safety barriers must have a minium height of 1.2 metres.
     

  • Barrier gates must have slef-closing function.
     

  • Must avoid all kind of climbable objects close to the safety barrier within distance of less than 1.2 metres.
     

  • Safety barrier must start building within 12 months of the buildiing permit was issued.
